RV Size Options

One of the first things you’ll want to determine when choosing a camper to buy is how big of one you’ll need. This will mainly depend on how many people will regularly be traveling in the vehicle. If it’s just you and a partner or friend, you could get by with a small RV that sleeps two. However, if you have a big family or want to take a large group regularly, you’ll need enough space for everyone to sleep and store their belongings.
 

RV Towing & Driving

Your next consideration will be driving. Some RVs are self-contained, meaning they have their drivetrain and engine so you don’t need another vehicle to use them. Others are towable, meaning that you do need a towing vehicle to take the RV from place to place. If you’re choosing a towable RV, then you’ll also need to consider what your current passenger vehicle is capable of towing. Very large campers may require that you upgrade to a larger vehicle to be able to tow them.

 

The size of your RV or camper will also determine how easy it is to tow or to drive, so take this under consideration, too. You may want to get a slightly smaller model to learn the ropes and then upgrade to a bigger RV  later on when you’re more confident in your RV towing or driving skills. If you’re new to RVs, it’s wise not to go for the very largest model available just because it has lots of space and features if it’s going to be impossible for you to drive right away. Get something you know you can learn to drive easily and work your way up to that massive RV!
